where i live we see thousandds of Oystercatchers with their distinctive red beaks, however recently there have been a number of oystercatchers with white beaks, is this normal are they Oystercatchers or are they a different breed?

It is a puzzle. can't think of anything like that with a white beak. Are you sure the beaks are not just very light orange? Pied stilts and avocets have dark beaks so it is not one of those either.

The albinos have red beaks too.
This confused me too, I also couldn't find anything with a white beak that looks like an Oystercatcher.
