Adding Image Links To The AnswerBank

Good Day Twitchers, Ornithologists & Feathered Friend Fanciers!

For those of you who wish to share your bird-based snaps here are some handy instructions for sharing your images with us.

We're assuming you've managed to get your pictures on to your computer and are ready to upload them.

Flickr

Our favourite photo-sharing site is Flickr, you can see our photostream here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/50790492@N05/

If you're not already a member, you may want to sign up. You can do so here: http://www.flickr.com/

Once signed up do the following to upload a photo:

1. Click Upload Photo & Video on the right of the screen
2. Click "Choose Photos and videos" and select the files from your computer to upload.
3. If you want to share your photos on The AnswerBank you need to select "public" in the privacy options.
4. Click "Upload Photos and Video" button and let the upload process finish.
5. Click "Add a Description" fill in any field you feel inclined to and click "save"
6. You should now be returned to your photo-stream.

To share the picture On The AnswerBank

1. Select the picture you want to share
2. On this page click the little drop-down arrow above the picture.
3. Click "Grab the link"

4. Select the link and copy it by pressing CTRL & C together on your keyboard.
5. And finally: paste it to your desired AnswerBank birdwatching thread

For those who don't want to sign up to Flickr and want to show others their picture quickly, there is always TinyPic.

1. Visit: http://tinypic.com/
2. Click "Choose file" and choose your file.
3. Select Resize: Web/Email
4. Click "upload now"
5. Fill in the Captcha
6. Copy the link from "Direct link for layouts"
7. Paste it in a Birdwatching thread of your choice
