One of Mr & Mrs Blackbirds babies has succumbed to the sparrowhawk. Feathers all over the garden. Was only admiring them yesterday evening.
Two babies left now. Nature can be cruel.

It is sad when that happens but that is how Nature survives, survival of the fittest.
Those two surviving Chicks will hopefully survive and mature and breed in Years to come.

I also hope they have a second clutch like last year.

Sad Ice, but the Sparrow Hawk probably has chicks too, so you've lost one but fed another :(
