I Saw Red Kites Yesterday Up The Wye Valley.

To be honest I had no idea what they were until I visited a visitors centre where there was lots of info on these amazing birds.

We may Tilly but more likely on the way rather than there...or at least when I was last there. They are spreading so who knows...I will check. I have been looking at Rutland to work out when the best time to go will be. It will be nice to see the chicks largish, hungry and being fed.
Last cuckoo I saw was at Rutland so we may be lucky there too.

Yes Tilly...reports of Kites at Rutland....three found dead sadly...but we should be lucky. x

Gamekeepers make sure that we don't get any breeding red kites in S Yorks & N Derbys. Goshawks are just hanging on though:-)

Gamekeepers are misguided then carrust. They are carrion birds.

Long time since I saw a Goshawk....and yes...Gamekeepers know, I'm sure, that Kites are scavengers and lazy feeders, but do they care? x

They get nobbled with poison bait meant for other birds. I don't think there are many breeding buzzards aroud us also.

I now have a pair of Buzzards in the fields at the back of my house Carrust.
My scope is in place all the time.....I will do some housework one day. :-) x

There must be kites in Rutland, because they were introduced into the forest near corby, loads of them there, and rutland is just a small flight away. We have buzzards now, bit strange as we are in Lincolnshire in the Fen area, not many forests here, in fact none!

By the time you get to heaven there will be so many Buzzards they will have colonised there as well.......
