Monday. I was absent from parade yesterday. I stayed overnight in Stroud after an excellent RNA social do in Gloucester. I drove over to my friends in Stroud and we were picked up by minibus to go to Gloucester so that some serious quality control could...and was...undertaken. Therefore I stayed in Stroud overnight.
Today a funeral in Staffordshire. A much loved member of the canals trust died suddenly. She will be much missed.
At the moment i have a day to catch up with domesticity tomorrow. Then back to the canal Wednesday.

He was hoping to break the British record but failed on that score. He was up against a stellar field yesterday and I don't think anyone REALLY thought he would win. He wants to do more marathons so maybe one day, he'll do it.
For me, the best part of the marathon is the "fun runners" dressed as rhinos, or washing machines or there was one man doing karaoke for 26 miles. I think I might have been tempted to deck him though. I HATE karaoke at any time but for 26 miles...? No thank you.
I understand that one 42 year old man died after the event. Don't know details.
They all do it for for such wonderful causes and for me, THEY are the elite runners.

They do come out with some idiotic guff don't they. Also they often go off and rattle on about something that has nothing whatsoever to do with the event they are supposed to be talking about. Why do they have so many anyway. It's the same with the six nations, about twelve all waffling telling us what we've just seen. Why? they only need two.
