Wednesday. Just a few wispy clouds lurking about,Which surprises me not a jot. All the wet in the clouds descended upon us yesterday on the canal. The local weather forecast was for "possibility of the odd light shower" So I thought' Great, only need the waterproof jacket today then!' Yeah. Right. It came down so hard I couldn't see through it properly going down and the same for my crewman on the way back. We both got soaked. The passengers had a lovely time however and were a lovely family group. We had to moor on the wrong side of patch bridge. The bridge keeper came down to tell us that the bridge was closed due to an emergency at the wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, he couldn't open the bridge until paramedics had been and gone. Not a real problem at that stage, it just meant we had to cross the road to get to the pub. i kept the hand held radio with me to hear when the bridge would be open again. We had our lunch and the radio came to life to tell all boaters that Patch bridge would closed indefinitely. (We were going on down the canal to Purton.) So I went to tell the party that they might as well have another hour in the pub. I had no sooner finished when the radio came to life again to tell all boaters that Patch bridge was now open! Typical! We all had a good laugh and one of the ladies said, 'That is just to call you a liar!' We went on down the canal is sunshine. I was still wet through. then it clouded over and it started to hammer down! I stuck my head up to grin at my crewman.The gesture he gave me was befitting a retired vicar! So we both got soaked. We had fun however with a lovely group of people who said they would book again.
Tiggy is well. He was in at 10 last night, fed himself then made several trips taking food away, so I presume mrs. tiggy is well gtoo. Wonderful! :o}
Good morning boaty. What an interesting day for you yesterday,mat least the group enjoyed themselves.
Me, I went to son's house to get the bedroom started in readiness for going on the market next week, back again today. Well, what'd are retired dads for?
Enjoy your day today and hope it stays dry for you..
Good morning ,just getting ready for walk .Have a good day everyone .Have got frozen shoulder giving me a lot of discomfort but nowt gets in front of early morning walk .
'morning Bluetoffee, Albs, I'm not aloud alcohol in the house at the moment :-( but that's a story for another time. This is the first I've heard of anyone with a pet hedgehog.
He's not a pet kev, he and his missus have their nest in the bottom of my back hedge. he comes out usually every night to see off the slugs and snails and whatever meat scraps I put out for them. mrs. tiggy is blind and himself does a wonderful job of looking after her.
'morning wee. I have a shoulder problem too now - it can spoil your day. Anyway, I'm looking forward to having my grandaughter for a couple of nights so she helps keep my mind off it.
That's lovely Boatie - I didn't know hedgehogs cared about each other. I wish I had hedgehogs - the slug problem in my garden is a pain. Certain plants have been decimated this year.
