Nesting Birds.
4 Answers
I want to get rid of an apple tree in my garden, as it is too close to the house, but I think there are birds nesting in it. Which month can I be sure that the nests have been completely abandoned, as I don’t want to make anything homeless!
Thanks.
Thanks.

Although no expert, I think I have seen Blue, Coal and Great tits.
I wouldn’t dream of disturbing a nest that was in use. I like to feed the birds (and other creatures that visit the garden) all year round. A lot of birds use the tree as a ‘launch pad’ to the food I put down, but I have seen some disappear into holes in the trunk, which is why I assume there are nests.

Only wood pigeon and collard doves will be nesting at this time of year!!!!!!!!! but why not just trim the tree and make it not just a home for the birds but a source of fruit for you???? Many birds will use your tree as a roost over winter and will give you a fantastic view of life in the "harder" months.........enjoy
