My sponsored cuckoo is back in Wales, after completing (at least) the fourth loop of his amazing migration.

I knew little about cuckoos before being given the sponsorship as a Christmas present a couple of years ago - now I'm just in awe of the journeys that these small birds make every year - nature is truly astonishing.

Cuckoos are a good analogy for our latest bunch of immigrants. They come here, dump their unwanted baggage in other birds' nests then shove off, leaving the natives to pick up the bill.
