A first for me and my new garden. Mum has been coming on her own for some time now and taking chunks of fat balls away with her but today she brought her baby with her, Made my day. Anyone else getting babies visiting?

She must think that your garden is safe and in a wild animal that is a great compliment. Does she just have the one baby? I hope she does well in bringing up junior.

Yes we have a family of Greater Spotted Woodpeckers. Ma and Pa visit all year round and now baby sits on the fence waiting to be fed. Beautiful to watch, we feel so lucky

Mine are Great Spotteds as well margo. I have a picture Baldric but it's carp. Had to take to through the blinds and couldn't move nearer as she's off at the slightest movement. Which is the easiest host site to use to post photo?

First time I've tried to load a picture. I've used Tinypics. It's a rubbish picture anyway, too far away but here goes.

That's a nice piccy, you're very lucky.

Yay well done me! The baby's on the left BTW. x
Lovely picture thanks

Well done you, nice piccy!
Question Author
You're all very kind, thank you, x
Have you another link? Tinypics never works for me.
I've got a pair of great spotted woodpeckers and a young one, being fed from fat balls in a lilac tree next to the house. I've also got a jay who is very bold. I keep a fat and seed ring hanging from a wooden pole in the same tree, he can't take from it where it hangs, so he sits above it and yanks it up on the string, then he shuffles along the pole with it and wraps the string around the hook which supports a hanging bird table and attacks the ring with great fury,
- and the book says jays are supposed to be 'ellusive' !
Jackdaw, do you see anything on the link at all?

If you do click 'zoom' on the left - that may bring it up, sometimes happens to me.

Sounds wonderful Khandro. I also have several Jays around my garden. One tried to bully the GSW off the fat feeder but she wouldn't move and he was so much bigger than her. Birds are so fascinating.

JD the only other photo site I know is Photobucket and I can never get on that one, used to but doesn't recognise me any more.
Can you see that one, Jack? ^
Thanks to Mamy clicking on zoom brings up a picture.
Yes Jo, your jpeg works fine.

The 'zoom' trick' I found by accident useful to know for future.
Question Author
Thank you Jo and Mamya, useful to know. Saved me a job. x
Little moments like you witnessed today, makes life wonderful doesn't it Ladybirder?
