Blackbirds

I feed a female and male blackbird. Who are feeding young , Today the male blackbird flew to. It’s nest with a beak full of mealworms followed by a jackdaw. . Blackbird was having none of and with a squakchased the jackdaw away . I was amazed that a wee bird could do this .

I had a pair of robins who actually chased my 2 cats round the garden.

They seem to. The tiny birds are always chasing Red kites away. They fly into them constantly until they go. They are probably more protective with young ones around too.

I have just been sitting in the garden and there was a blackbird on the garage roof not four feet away from me singing his little heart out. It was lovely.

Blackbirds love "sunbathing" on my garage roof - they squat down, spread their wings, open their beaks and stay for ages in the sun.

I've had quite a few near misses with my blackbirds - at head and knee height!

They certainly make their intentins clear to me eg. want worms or don't want worms want hedgehog food instead!

Blackbirds are my favourite of all the birds. I have one that comes and tucks into the food and then always goes and has a drink - he's a creature of habit !
