i hope that your day is a good one, any plans for today? - I will be phoning the local council as my hot water has stopped working, they tried to fix it saturday but no joy. It's No fun washing up in cold water, having to boil a kettle to do so, luckily i have an electric shower. Other than that its phone the doctor see if i can get an appointment soon to see them. The pain isn't going away even taking paracetamols. And worse i took a fall yesterday, playing swingball of all things, a kids game, where i was too enthusiastic and fell over, luckily nothing broken.
the picnic was good yesterday and the weather held out, everyone took something to jolly it all along. I had loads over from my late lunch on saturday, so took some chicken, potatoes and the focaccia bread my friend made for me. it all went very well. There is another on sunday which i will go to and meet up with a friend, as we are going to go to a local pub i know.
We call that game Totem Tennis Emmie. I used to be a regular Rodger Federer at it.
Probably not these days ;-(
As much as I admire enthusiasm,, well,, I hope you haven't bruised yourself too much or pulled a muscle you forgot you owned.
Happy days
Trying to join in and enjoy yourself isn't a crime.
A tad of gentle activity is a good thing.
My idea of gentle activity at my age is making a cup of tea for someone else, cos I don't like tea.
funny i don't like tea either, but i did make some for my friends on saturday after our repast. It was a good thing i got some milk in as i don't drink that either.
Doing ok thanks Emmie.
Mum's getting along well, we chat regularly, haven't been to her place recently.
All of NSW is in lock down.
Dubbo, where your friend lives has been declared a "hot spot ".
Hope your friend is keeping safe, one of my sons lives there too.
yes my friend Bev is in Dubbo and her mum lives over the other side of Australia, in a small place called Yokine, neither have been vaccinated i don't think.. I am worried for the mum as she's 92 or so and so very vulnerable to infection, nor have i heard from her in more than a month, which is unusual as she normally calls me a couple of times a month. sometimes more, her son has a deal that allows her to make international calls for little money...
Not enough Aussies have been vaccinated yet Emmie.
I'm on a waiting list for my first jab.
Hopefully it will happen soon.
In the meanwhile I'll keep being antisocial, seems to be the only way to avoid Covid so far.
that's so bad 1ozzy, can't understand why the Australian government, system is so slow in reacting to this pandemic. We have most of our citizens vaccinated, though there is a core who don't want it...
Good morning everyone. Hope you get your appointment to see doc emmie. Swing ball can be a dangerous thing to play. My son and his wife hate losing when they play it, so much that they hit the ball right off the string.
Our government considered ourselves an Island Nation.
Closed our borders to stop infection, but then opened them too soon and didn't keep track of what was happening.
If we had kept our borders closed longer it probably wouldn't have helped in the long run.
The antivaxers haven't helped.
The protesters haven't helped either.
Sooner or later we would be infected.
Now we have the Delta variant moving swiftly.
Surprise surprise:-/
I am fine now that I have got over Covid or at least seem to have. Wife is getting there but slowly. Took her for walk Saturday but only around the block, slow but at least it's progress. Must have looked funny her holding on to me with both of us having to use walking sticks.
