Due to it's effect on my waist size, pizza is a fairly rare treat these days, but last night my woman said she fancied some so I looked at the leaflets that had come through the door recently, and finally went to a website as what was on offer in the leaflets seemed rather limited.
I've been aware, with some considerable disappointment, that trying to get a 'seafood pizza' has been near impossible for some time. But last night I couldn't even find a pizza delivery place that offered anchovies, not even as an additional ingredient !
What is going wrong with this world ? Even the food has gone down in quality/options. Should I blame it on Covid ? Or Brexit ? Or global warming ? Perhaps the anchovy is on the endangered species list.
And the pizza we finally chose wasn't as warm as one might have expected for a big name supplier :-(

The price of the things are such that I can not believe they need to skimp. Choose to for profit maybe.
The trouble with holding your own toppings is 3 fold. You either have to create the whole pizza yourself, which isn't what you want to pay for, or you have to add them after the pizza has been cooked, which also isn't what is required. And the number I eat, the topping would be past the best before date by the time I risked my waistline on another.

Well up to a point OG you are right about keeping the toppings if you don't eat that product very often.
It just so happens I've just made one and it don't take long. I always have peppers in the house and cheese, also tinned tomatoes or fresh. With a rasher or 2 of bacon cut up, eh oh done and dusted and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg and be stone cold on delivery.
The bases I buy come 2 in a pack and don't have to be kept in the fridge. They cost me £1.30 for the 2.
But if you like seafood ones then a bit more difficult.
