Wasp nest - will it be empty now?
6 Answers
We have a storage are (like a loft) in our Summerhouse - which is currently CRAMMED with our belongings for the new house... During Summer - I noticed some dopey looking wasps flying around (they had squeezed thru the smallest little gap in the hatch doors)
I taped all the edges up and it stopped them getting thru - so I know for a fact there is a nest in there.
When we come to empty the boxes from the storage space - will the nest be empty?
Do they build a nest and then move on after summer - or are they likely to either still be there or come back next Summer?
Would prefer to get all our stuff out while they are not around!!!!

Look in Yellow Pages for a pest control operator, they charge about £50 to come out and dispose of the wasps but he will know if it is safe in the viscinity of the nest at this time of year and I doubt you will have to pay for that advice.
I would in any case play it safe, wasps can be very aggressive at the end of the season.
