Osprey update

Amazingly, the Lady osprey at Loch of the Lowes is still alive, but barely moving - they think she may have had a stroke. Dad is rising magnificently to the challenge and bringing regular fish to feed the sturdy chicks. The wardens have been on the webcam all night, keeping vigil. For those who don't know, Lady is 27 years old, so has had a splendid life and has done so much to ensure the continuity of ospreys in Scotland. She hasn't eaten now for over 24 hours. We can only hope she's not in pain, and that her passing will be soon. The wardens say they have permission to remove her body when the time comes, but that they will not interfere with the welfare of the chicks (that is the plan at the moment).

At least the chicks look healthy enough boxtops, lets hope they do well and fledge.
