Just seen one leave the nest, He ? kept hopping up and down flapping his wings like mad then off he went going back to the cams to see if he gets back ok
Well he's back, just got to the site and he came in made, a rather ungainly landing and looked t the other chick as if to say "Well, that was easy" I can't believe I actually managed to be on line when one actually made his maiden flight
Well done paddywak, I missed it - just switched. He's gone again by the look of it! The warden gang are very exicted - all very emotional to have through the young 'uns this far, after mum's illness. Chick 2 still to go, but all well so far!
I couldn't believe it to see him fly after the problems of the last few weeks was really great, the boss was watching as well and I have to admit we both had a lump in our throats. Yesterday there were a couple of times when I thought they were going to go that I was shouting at the screen that much, willing him on that the boss reckons it was worse then the football, and when he went for it this morning I cheered as if England had scored
It's surprising how addictive watching it is. When they finally leave the loch on their travels I don't know what I'll do till next year. I suppose I'll just surf around the web cams till I find something interesting but I doubt if I'll find anything as gripping as the story of The Laird, The Lady and their chicks
In logged on 15 minutes too late to catch the maiden flight this morning. Quiet most of the day, then at 8:15pm it took off again for a couple of laps before landing back in the nest. Obviously on a high from its experience, it took off once more and flew around for nearly 3 minutes before returning.
I'm sure the second one won't be long in following suit.
lucky you., paddy wak ..I missed it [about 6.00pm my time ] as OH had suggested I might like to spend some time with him instead of glued to webcams - isn't it always the way - so am hoping they'll head off earlier today. glad your boss understands !!
