We used to have three or four pairs of blackbirds in the garden inthe spring, they seem to have disappeared and we didn't even see them feeding their young this year. What happened to them, do they emigrate ?

I have not seen or heard one for a long time. This might shed some light on it.

There's three around in our garden and next door's lawn now and again - but we have cats and there are magpies around, so they don't come that often.
"do they emigrate ?"

LOL, I can just see a queue of blackbirds, passports tucked under wing lined up at airport and sea port check in desks around the globe now.

Nice one avator but you know what I mean ...
We had a pair that successfully reared young this year. They disappeared about a month ago, but re-appeared this morning, shouting their heads off and waiting expectantly for us to put food out. It was as if they'd only been gone for a day. Can't help wondering where they've been in the meantime.
