Can ANYTHING be done to stop the forum truncating long posts without warning.

I remember when it used to loose a few words between what it could post and when a warning was returned with the post not added. Now it just truncates potentially huge amonts of work and says nothing.

Whoever wrote the code can only be described as profoundly incompetent.

what does truncating mean?
The post Scotman. But then maybe its just me being a dim.

beso, is saying, if you type out a really long question and post it....it will not show all of what you typed...........the rest is lost in cyberspace.

I think Beso is complaining about the fact that the system implements the 2,000 character limit on post length without warning that it has been exceeded. People who can't count sometimes lose bits of messages:-)
