FireFox, hints and tips, anything exciting?
I have just switched from internet explorer to Firefox. I'm not great at reading pages of instructions and crap etc, so i'm hoping that you guys will just make a few interesting points that would be useful to my "browsing experience".

Last time I installed it I couldn't even find how to make it do that! There were just too many instructions, add-ons, plug-ins etc. and reading to be done, so I 'got rid'. Hope you have better luck. And I'm still trying to guess what T.I.A. means!
Now would you like some proper advice?
Firstly, check that you've got the British English dictionary installed:
https://addons.mozill...h-english-dictionary/
Then get rid of all the adverts on sites like this one (and make those sites load much faster) by installing this:
https://addons.mozill...x/addon/adblock-plus/
(When you're installing that add-on you'll be asked to accept a subscription. Don't worry, it doesn't involve any payment! Just accept the easyList option, which tells Firefox which advertising sites to block).
If you want to be able to save Youtube videos to your computer, with just a couple of clicks, use this add-on:
https://addons.mozill...be-video-downl-10137/

The only extra one I have installed apart from those mentioned by Chris is the tinyURL generator...
https://addons.mozill...on/tinyurl-generator/

OH, and I also put the refresh/stop button back where it should be...
