Lack of editing and other functions

Why are there no editing function as well as bold, underline and other features found on other forums.

I would appreciate it if such functions are there.

We found that many users abused the rich text editing functions and that, occasionally, it broke the site's formatting.

We are considering a way of implementing them again which can't be abused, and will not mess up the site.

I always thought it couldn't be too hard to simply auto insert all 3 close tags at the end of every single post to stop the problems caused by people forgetting to (intentionally or not) close the tags.

The colours were pretty cool though Ed, as were the bold, italics and underlining. it would be great if we could have 'em back.

Hi chakka35- the problem was that some users deliberately forgot to close off the formatting coding in their posts. and the effect was that thereafter all the text on Answerbank was in bold/italics and no-one could change it
