Activating an Avatar

Yes I know there are questions and answers about getting an Avatar but I've got a gravatar account, uploaded a photo and tried to activate it on here. No luck as there isn't a check box in "edit profile" for me to click on to upload the photo here. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong or if I've missed something. Thanks in advance for your help.

As long as your registered emails here and on gravatar are absolutely identical then your avatar should be automatically picked up.

All seems a bit slow and/or hit&miss at the moment though - give it 24hrs & see.

Ok thanks dave, yes same email registered with both here and gravatar. I have now left it as activate avatar on here and will see what happens but I notice in one of the how to threads that it says there's a check box which you tick....but I've not seen one for the avatar in edit profile.

If you go to your profile, you have to go right down to the bottom of the page and click Submit.

I've also found it works quicker if you "check this avatar" on Gravatar before you come out of it.

However - everyone seems to be having problems at the moment :-(

You need to select the activate avatar button in your profile so that it says deactivate avatar, like it does here.

Thanks boxtops, have done all that now so perhaps it's just taking the scenic route to get here lol....will have to see how it goes especially as you say there seems to be problems with avatars atm.
