My Samsung E710 a couple of months ago suddenly gained horizontal lines across the screen which fade the picture on the screen.  And a few days ago these lines appear even more exaggerated, and the picture/menu on the phone looks even more plagued by these lines.  When I scroll through the phone book contacts, the grey bar highlighting each of the people should be a dark grey and instead it is very very faded (with even stronger faded lines within that).  It seems like the contrast needs sorting, however, there is no way to change this is there? Or is it another problem?   Any suggestions would be nice!  Thanks.

Unfortunatley your phone is dying, I have a Samsung E700, its about 16 Months old, about 4 months ago my screen did the same as yours has, after my lines went i was left with a very bright display, which drains the battery very quickly, I looked on the web for a solution and found that its quite a common thing with Samsungs clam shell phones, apparently its to do with the connector between the keypad and the screen, my camera no longer works either. Luckly i'm up for a contract renewal in a month so will be getting a new phone, hopefully the Sony Ericsson K750i will be out by then.
Hi There, i also has a samsung E710. The same thing happened with me, the screen got worse and worse each day, until i could hardly view all the photos i had stored on there. There is nothing you can do about it.  i had insurance cover with the phone, so i sent it back to them to sort out but they couldnt! They offered me a samsung D500, which i still have at the moment and so far so good!
