Ok, so I never thought I'd ask this... but...

As a long-standing member of AB, I've recently been drawn to SAB. I feel like a bit of a traitor for this, but it is a tad more entertaining.
I guess it's drawing out the old flip/pinki, where I liked to argue, but I'm trying my best not to get drawn into it.... though it's hard. Really hard.

AB is a better site, by far. It's more "swish" and "with it". I like the ad's, which i regularly click on, and I also really, really like the ed... who is an absolute doll.

I'm torn....

Do you have the same problems? :-)

i think some who go on sab from here have a different green name :)
Well the first issue I would point out as am sure you know - there is no link between SAB and AB, totally separate sites and operations.

I too visit the 'other' place and take all with a big pinch of salt, especially this week whilst imposters are everywhere. Both in moderation I feel is fine.

Dr, I aint no Greenie... as you know! :-)
The 2 above posters excluded from the imposters list of course.
sorry did not mean you , the other night there were a lot of freds about then another name

who knows who is who
Question Author
Freds? Eh??

Mamy, as we spoke earlier, that is wise :-)
Well, in some ways, it's the same place really. It's run by the same company, with (as far as I'm aware) the same Editor and with common membership (i.e. you can use your AB login details on SAB).

However I'm surprised that SAB still exists. At one time clicking on 'Sport', here on AB, automatically took you into SAB but the Editor decided that having 'Sport' simply as a subsection of AB was a better idea.

That leaves SAB as a 'rogue element' of AB, because it's largely unmoderated. (i.e. the Ed can still deal with problems but AB's moderators, like me, don't have the ability to suspend or ban people on SAB).

I'm kept busy enough (answering questions and occasionally 'zapping' people) here, without wanting to get involved in SAB!
>>>"totally separate sites and operations", Mamyalynne?

I think not! (See my post above!)
Chris - there a few people around this site that I would 'love' to zap. Phasers not set on stun!
If you are genuinely interested in the ongoing rantings and ravings of people who have been banned (with good reason) from AB, then SAB is definitely the place for you. If you like to keep up with the latest incarnation on AB of docspock, knobby, legend etc, then SAB is definitely the place for you. But be quick, though - they get banned quickly enough!

There are quite a few people whom, on a purely personal basis, I might have chosen to zap but I'm meant to be impartial ;-)

Chris, but you do love some of us... right? :-)) xxxx
Quote from Ab Editor

No idea why it's open again to be honest. Anyway, if any questions spill on to AB about SAB could you mention that we're absolutely nothing to do with it? I can't catch all the questions when it happens.
Of course I love you, Flip, as long as you're buying the drinks ;-)
chris do us a favour try to log in with your ab details and see if they work, you don't have to post anything
Question Author
Chris, G&T ok with you? Large, of course??

:-) xx
Fair enough, Mamyalynne, but why do my AB login credentials work on there? (I've never joined SAB, per se!)

And further, why are both domain names registered to Crystal Guides Ltd?
DrF:
I logged in on SAB, with my AB details, a few minutes ago.

Flip:
G&T is OK but I'd prefer a decent Scotch. (Single malt, og course!)
thank you
Chris - that is my dilemma too, have been a member there as long as here and always presumed a link, maybe Ed will enlighten us tomorrow.
