Went out this morning to a language and play course, to improve little ladies speech (she has a slight lisp-cute and funny now-but not later) and left strict instructions with my husband to listen out for the front door as i was exspecting a few big parcels today. Guess what i found when i got home?A sorry you where out card, and him still in bed. Ok so he didnt get home till nigh on midnight but any sane human would have perhaps stayed up an hour and come to bed him, No, 4am. ok, so he works and works hard but by the time he finally got up this morning he was running a tad late. He knew i wanted these parcels as soon as possible, but noooooooo to much for him to listen out for the door!

I used to work til about half ten at nght and not get home til about quarter past eleven. By the time I'd had something to eat and wind down it was usually 3am so it's not unusual for someone doing late shifts to be up for a quite a few hours prior to going to bed. I mean, you wouldn't get home from work at six and go bed at seven.
Firewatch - don't be too hard on him. Did the doorbell actually ring?
I was expecting a recorded delivery packet last week - OH was actually standing in the kitchen when the postman just stuffed the "I tried to deliver a packet" card through the door, without ringing and waiting for someone to answer. OH didn't pick up the mail straight away so didn't realise and then had to go round and fetch it.

Try doing shifts if you haven't already done so; it's not easy!
And can you be sure that the delivery person actually rang/knocked? They don't hang around you know and often prefer to take the parcel back with them if they're in a hurry. Is it really so much trouble to collect the parcels from the depot?

So he chooses to play skyrim to unwind after work - surely that's up to him! I used to work late and wouldn't have dreamt of going to bed an hour after coming in - you need time to unwind, eat, digest, unwind a little bit more before bed (exactly the same as when you work a 9 - 5) Had my OH suggested that I should have been up to receive a package he was expecting, he would have got short shrift! Give him a break - and really, if you've been able to wait since 2007 to indulge your hobby, a few extra days is neither here nor there.
