Snooty Replies

What's the best way of handling snooty replies?  I mean the ones that infer that as you did not reply directly to the question, that you are a time waster.  I appreciate that this is a question and answer site, but if someone asks for an opinion, why get upset when they get one?  Do I ignore them or am I the wrong person to be using this site?

 Ignore it and carry on.  There are all sorts about and its very much a question of 'rough with the smooth'.  You could spend all your time retorting only to have more put-downs back, and so on....Just go to another thread.
