I found them a little irritating last week but I think the competition has finished now. Many posts went in Gaming but I don't go in there so didn't mind too much, until they appeared in Q&P too. I suppose from the Ed's point of view it was good as it seemed to attract a lot of new users. In the main these users wouldn't have known about the AB search facility.

The problem is not too many or too few sections; it is the fact that the whole topic structure is odd and so many people, especially when new to the site, post in the wrong place.
...partly, as we've said before, because the sub-topics are only available if you click on a topic heading, or the Red Topic at the top of the list. Nobody tells you that.
In all seriousness, perhaps all new members should be given some form of a 'welcome pack' with all the rules and regulations clearly laid out. In fact I would appreciate such a pack as a 'download' because there are lots of rules and regs ; some of which I may even be unaware.
I get fed up with the crossword posters also quizzes and puzzles - they completely overwhelm the site at certain times of the day and push other subjects off The Latest Posts column far too quick before anyone sees them.
