I usually post a link so at least the person asking the question can check the answer. I have lost count of the times anwers have not been acknowledged so I don't expect a thanks these days. If thanks are given I always reply (usually) saying it's no problem.
I don't get irritated just a bit sad, but it's something that goes with the territory I'm afraid, mrs pudding. But the people that are genuinely pleased more than make up for the others who don't appear to bother.
Why do we do it then - because it is wonderful belonging to a great community and hopefully helping a few people as well.
