I haven't thought this through fully but you will get the giste.

How about moving the paging option from below the box "Best answer" to above it so that it is on screen instead of having to scroll/pgdn to it ?

Couldn't "Last" in the paging option take you directly to the last entry instead of the top of the last page ?

Likewise for ctrl/f5 to refresh. Maybe it does, just doesnt work on my machine like that.

Finally how about an A-Z clickable site map at the bottom of the page (Where house rule - Contact etc are) as there are quite a lot of nested subjects now in the "Topics" - I lost jokes the other day eg, forgot it was in Phrases, with a full site map I'd have clocked it straight away. I know there similar available in expanded "Topics" just a thought..

Anyway, have a good day.

Could do, but how is that better? We assume you'd want to see the actual questions before paging on, so you'll be scrolling down anyway?

You can go to the last answer if you click on the last person to answer name from the category view.

Besides that it's not a good idea to go to the last answer. If someone hasn't read the thread they want to start at the beginning.

Refresh ctrl/F5 works fine on my computer.

As Umm says, those who haven't read it all wouldn't thank you. Also, all the links there relate to pages, why would "last" relate to answers?

I think you answered your own question.

I understand the site can be a bit weird to navigate around for new users. We're currently putting together a list of helpful tips for our newest members.
This site has got to be one of the easiest to use on the internet.
Do you think Umm?

I always think we have a lot of weird conventions; it's not how I would have built it if I'd designed it from the beginning. We live with a lot of it simply because "this is how everyone understand it to work now"
I think its easy too... I think its because its evolved and adapted for an older user group... It doesn't take long to get your head round
Yes, I've looked at a few Q&A sites and they're just too confusing. You can get the hang of this site after a couple of posts.
"wise" surely Rowan? Not "older" :)

I do admit we're better than a lot of Q&A sites. They seem to just want to funnel you towards questions, but not necessarily giving answer.

Ok I'll shut up.... put it down to be being an igurrant newby... ta anyhow.
It seems easy to me. I never had a problem with it - and I'm hopeless with technology!
We like suggestions Bumpkin_Clumber, yours are welcome, but we have to assess them rationally based on:

1. Does it improve the site in a noticeable way?
2. How tricky is it to do?

and then we work out if 1 is worth 2.
I'll add my voice - I too think the site is very easy to use, which makes it even more enticing !
There are some odd nooks and crannies of functionality that take a while to spot ...

... I only realised recently that clicking on the word "Topics" at the top of the list actually expands the list to show all of the sub-topics too :+)
Have you found the hidden nude member pictures section yet

(AB members.... not, well you know!)
I think it's an easy site to use, especially for us silly old Biddies!!
Everything is easy...when you know how.

It was only after someone in AB mentioned it, that I discovered clicking 'Topics' revealed a lot of sub topics.....Actually I think there are too many.

Ron.
