problems with sky e-mail

I'm trying to sync my old talktalk addresses through sky.com who i've just joined. whereas i can receive e-mails i am unable to send any although Sky's sync verification e-mail says i shouldbe able to. Has anyone had this problem if so how did you get over it. i'm using windows live mail as my main application. hope this makes sense

Make sure the outgoing mail server (smtp) for your talktalk email account is set to

smtp.tools.sky.com

(it will have defaulted to smtp.talktalk.net which will only work via a talktalk broadband conection.)
