Would be nice to, after replying to a question not started by yourself, get an email if anyone else replies to that question.

Also, if you reply to your own question, you don't get an email about it.

If you subscribe to a question you should be notified of additional responses from others but I have to say I've only ever done it once & it didn't work!

However, I've always received emails when I've replied to my own Q's.

I have never got the subscribe feature to work, and do not bother to subscribe any more. What I do instead is to go to my profile, check questions I gave an answer to, and look at the number of replies and dates of last repliles. I can then look at the ones that have been answered since I last checked. This is not fool proof, but it works well enough.

I agree with the last post, Didwot. that's what ive been doing. But its a real pain.. I mean, they could even show on that page the name of the last person to post an answer. Thus if its not your name, you can go check it out.

Something needs to be done though, so that its easier to check back. You could give an answer and the original questioner would ask you for more details, and you wouldn't know about it.
With "questions I gave answers to" you will notice that the questions are sorted in the order in which you answered them, most recent at the top. If you post another answer to an older question it flips up to the top. Very useful, but it would be much more useful if there was an option that sorted them by the date/time of the last answer given by anyone. That way you could see at a glance when someone else had answered, because the question would have moved to the top of the list, and even if you did not notice that, you would only have to check the top questions to see if there were any new postings.
Can you get the techies to do that ABed???

In 'my profile', the date of last reply is actually the date you posted on that thread and not the date of the last reply received, which makes it even more difficult to keep abreast with postings.
Sorry should have said "the date you last posted on that thread"
Looks like FP and I posted at the same time, except I did it in stereo, which is a glitch that happens now and again.

Just realised that, not having subscribed to any threads for ages, I posted the 2nd answer to MargeB's news question about speeding and dangerous driving (Subaru Impreza), and subscribed to that thread. There are now 29 answers, and I have not received a single notification of any of them.
The good news is that when I tallk to myself I do get told about it!
Out of curiosity I subscribed to this question after I'd answered it but up to now I haven't been notified of any of these new posts.

Are you saying that nothing happens when the 'subscribe to question' option is clicked, and AB says 'your subscription has been successful' ?  Or that you couldn't make it work in the first place?

Also, I have been looking for qa question I know I saw some days ago in the topic 'Film & TV'. I have just realised that if I post a similar question AB will show me similar questions to it, thus among those will be the one  I am searching for, I hope.  Save me a lot of finger work.

No more emails please!!!!  Good god!  Though I agree with the idea that sorting questions by "most recently added to by other people" would be handy - would save us having to remember how many posts were then when we last posted!
