Can't find a suitable category for this. My apologies.

The 8 year old who was killed yesterday in our village is the younger sister of the older alba's schoolfriend. I know the mother. Mr Alba knows the father and his brothers. A friend of mine witnessed the accident and saw nasty stuff.

Result of an argument with a bus. Poor soul died out-right. Mum's heavily pregnant and in hospital under sedation. :-(

That is dreadful, especially with the mother pregnant. My heart goes out to them all.

Sadly this sort of thing causes terrible upset especially in a small community, most folk get over that sadness pretty quickly but the family concerned will always have that whispered they lost their little girl in an accident you know hanging over them... feel for them and the childs friends for many it will be their first exposure to the death of a person in their peergroup...

If you'll permit, when I lay a bunch of flowers tomorrow at the scene, I'll just add
'condolences also from my internet friends'

A neighbour has been named and quoted in the paper, if what she said is true, it's a load of tosh.
I don't know how a parent would ever begin to come to terms with that.

RIP little one. x
Albs..I don't know the circumstances (obviously) but my sympathies to you and the whole community...I live in a small place and I can imagine the effect this will have on everyone. xx
How sad, x
How terribly sad.

We had a similar reaction in our village a while back when a young man from Manchester was murdered here by a bunch of local lads, then again when the body of a tiny baby was found in a brook just up the road from me. The poor baby has never been identified and is being buried this weekend after the village had a collection to pay for the funeral.

Very sad alba, please let me be included in the message of condolence...No parent should have to suffer the pain of outliviing their child...not under any circumstances let alone a didaster of this magnitude...

So sorry :-(

It's not the natural order of things is it?

We know accidents happen and that's just what they are, accidents. Consensus of opinion here is the bus driver wasn't to blame. Sympathy for everyone abounds here including the driver. Haven't heard if there were passengers on the bus tho.
so sorry to hear this alba. please add my condolences to all concrned.x what a dreadful thing to have happened. we had something similar happen in our village so know how it upsets the whole community. understandably.
It's so tragic when something like this happens. My granddaughter is 7 years old and it doesn't bear thinking about if anything should happened to her.
I hope those in the village in need of counselling have it available to them.
such a tragedy...small communities really suffer at these times....thoughts with you all at this very sad time...

oh lawdy, daffy. There must be a dreadfully ill woman out there. Glad the community got together, that's what good communities do isn't it?

Thank you all for your condolences, I will be passing them on. xx
Many years ago my dad was a bus driver, a little girl ran out from behind an ice cream van and dad knocked down and killed her. He suffered a breakdown and was out of work for a long time. My sympathies go out to the parents of this poor little mite and also to the driver - so very sad.
Please also include me Alba.
I feel for you and your children, but if I were that child's family I would be furious to see this thread.
