I haven't been with AB long enough to have read anything from New Forester, but IndieSinger is definitely brilliant and whenever I've read anything from Andy Hughes he seems so sane and rational, so I'd agree with you both there.

netibiza, I'm really sorry you still haven't managed to get your photos up yet; I hope someone can explain it to you better than I did because I'm useless at anything like that!

I haven't been on this site long enough to know New Forester but he is obviously held in high esteem.  He turned up right on cue when a FP made a wish for him to reply to a post. In this link here

This new freedom we are learning from IndieSinger is threatening to open up the chat side of this site so I hope the ABEd is a tolerant chap.

One final point.  Those of us with old style 56K modems are finding it very slow to download some of these large images being linked.  Perhaps the next tutorial should be on how to reduce the resolution of camera pics before uploading to ImageShack.

Hi gen2, didn't think about 56k, but I guess it will be slow. I know that ImageShack automatically 'shrinks' photos if they're over 1024kb though, so you shouldn't get anything too horrendous - hopefully. Myself, I never take photos at best quality unless it's for something special; I just use economy and that way I get more on my memory card. For internet/email use it's plenty good enough anyway.

 

Hope broadband comes to your area soon.

Broadband is available where I live - I just never thought I needed it since I don't normally download large files.  Not worried about myself but just thinking about others who maybe don't have the choice yet.
