GBH with Intent, likely outcome ?
Me and a group of friends 20-30 of us were at a kebab shop after an 18th party for one of my friends, I had a few drinks but wasn't drunk, after eating my kebab I dropped a fair bit so I decided to go back for another one, as I was walking in I heard shouting, I walked back out the front door and I saw one of my friends in a grapple with a full grown man, and a few others running towards it.
I casually walked out and went to a girl I thought was with us and asked her why are they fighting, is he drunk or something ? Next thing I know I got punched to the ground and my head bounced of the ground, turns out the girl was actually his wife. I stood back up and the man who was fighting with my friend was coming at me swinging another punch, so I hit him once in the face and ran into the kebab shop.
After cleaning myself up (cut lip, cut on forehead, cut wrist) I walked back out and he was still fighting with people, somehow it broke up and he pointed at me and said "I know were you live" and proceeded to walk towards my house, me and 3 friends followed him at a reasonable distance (100m) and he went into my garden and started banging on the door and windows, my mum came to the door and by that time we had got to the garden, he was shouting all sorts of abuse at my mum, and I managed to get past him into the house, he then hit one of my friends at the gate to my garden (caught on cctv) and that was the last I seen.
3 days later the police rock up at my house and arrest me of suspicion of GBH with Intent, I find out that the guy has a punctured lung and internal bleeding, apparently he was kicked while on the ground after I hit him (I didn't even see him go down) but in his statement he said that I had backed off when people started kicking him. He's trying to say that I hit him first and multiple times, resulting in his nose bleeding.
I've been bailed pending further inquiries, I'm 18, this is a first offense, DNA evidence should show that no fibers from his clothes were on the bottom of my jeans and that none of my blood should be on him, which you would expect if I had been kicking him after being punched to the ground.
I'm looking advice on whether the police will charge me with it or not, particularly from any experience police officers out there, there's no cctv of the fight outside the kebab shop except for me running into the kebab shop bleeding from the forehead, wrist and spitting out 3 mouthfuls of blood while shouting "That Fluffing Lady Veg smacked me for no reason"
The police also did not take my shoes, which I would have expected if people had been kicking him, but I think the main report they're looking into for me is that apparently his nose had started bleeding after I instigated and hit him multiple times, which is complete rubbish as I only hit him once to stop him from hitting me again.
Witnesses are sketchy, a lot of people want nothing to do with it, and everything's being kept very quiet. Two of my friends from that night (the one from the first fight and the one who got hit outside my house) were asked to give a statement to the police, and did. But were not arrested and bailed like I was. Was arresting me just standard procedure or is it something I should worry about? They have no conditions imposed on them so for them it's pretty much over.
Any responses will be appreciated.

Rereading your post, I see that you admit hitting the man or men and causing a nose bleed.
This means you are guilty of at least ABH.
A likedly outcome is that the cps will offer a 'deal, ' plead guilty to GBH section 20 ( a less serious offence) or ABH and they will ask for a noncustodial sentence. ABH would not be a prison sentence in the situation you describe.

Fights like these happen all the time, another likey out come (to add to eddies above) is that the cps might drop the case. It is still not 100% certain you will go to court but its best to plan for the worst. With conflicting witness statements the case might be thrown out. You admitted giving him a bloody nose aka common assult, therefore you will receive a fine but I would stick to your story that you felt threatened by him approaching and you lashed out in self defence. As for him getting a bust lung, that could of been any number of people kicking him when he was down. Those people kicking him when he was down, you have never seen them before right? ;-)
UPDATE:
My bail conditions have been lifted, I haven't been charged with anything, but the entire case is off to PPS, In reply to Eddie and Mike's answers, I didn't admit to giving him a bloody nose, I admitted to hitting him once on the cheek to stop him from hitting me for the second time, and the fact that I had already been punched to the ground and was dazed meant that the punch I threw wasn't even that strong. Plus a few witness statements saying that he didn't have any blood on his face or shirt.
I won't be pleading guilty to anything, regardless of the circumstances, the guy was going to attack me and I had to stop him using necessary force, I'm not having a criminal record because of that Finance Specialist.
My solicitor is 100% behind me on the self defense side of things, but as it's off to the public prosecution service, there's not much I can do. Hopefully they''ll just drop it from lack of evidence. It's basically only his statement that puts allegations towards me with nothing to back it up and counter evidence to support my side of things.
