HAVE I Got News FY Do you think it has run its course ?

HIGNFY I think that this show has run its course ,last week Roger Moore was so embarrassing ,he is clearly not up to it ,the stories were dragging on almost as long as The Rolling Stones careers,no matter how many comedians are on the Panel it needs a great host like Alexander Armstrong to guide it along.Come on BBC ,HIGNFY it is repeated enough, for it to warrant being good the first time we watch it.

in a mo - No, I don't think you are wrong about 'it has run its course'. But personally think you are wrong referring to Alexander Armstrong as a 'great' host.

You are right. The programme has gradually got worse and last weeks episode with Roger Moore was absolutely terrible.
Ian Hislop and Paul Merson are fine but their visiting partners and the compere are often very boring and not really into this type of programme.

It's still one of my favourite programmes but of course it depends on the presenter and it's guests. My favourite presenter recently has been Damian (posh boy) Lewis, and best guest Marcus Brigstock.

I still love the show and thought Roger Moore, although doddery was OK.

I watch it now and again and it looks to me like Paul Merton has lost interest in the show.

It is almost as though he has "told" every joke before on the show and has nothing new to add, so considers it "money for old rope".

Ian Hislop still seems to love it, as he is very "political" so always has something fresh to say about the latest political scandal.

Maybe time to replace Paul Merton.

I think it's still one of the better shows on the tele and that Ian Hislop makes it. He would be an enormous loss if ever he decided to go. In fact that would probably bring about its demise. Agree Damian Lewis does a good job.
So my answer is No, I don't think it has run its course, yet.

I really hate it that the off the cuff answers of Ian Hislop and Paul Merton have always been rehearsed and are never quick witted answers as the programmes shows.

I too liked Alexander Armstrong as host, couldn't bear it if Deyton came back. When Damian Lewis is on, I find it hard to watch him being funny, he's Brodie for heaven's sake!

I enjoy the show, but let's face it, as Brucie shows every weekend, there are some people sho simply can't read an autocue and make it look and sound natural - hence Sir Roge's episode got about three minutes in, and was switched off again.

The funniest edition was with Brian Blessed. The most consistent, Alexander Armstrong, I'd give him the job, full time.

No, I don't think it's run its course. With Roger Moore in the chair, at first I thought 'Oh my goodness', but a little while into the programme, I realised he was constantly taking the rise out of himself. He made me laugh.
