Though its a nice idea, just a quick look at the shopping sub topics suggests it may end up under used. I would post bargains and deals ect in "shopping" or CB

Sounds like a good idea to me. My ex lives near a funky little range of shops in the border counties called Tuffins which sell stuff and the other day they had the really really enormous packets of Daz which are usually about £17.99 for £7.99- would never have known if I'd not popped in on spec for some fuel, so a catagory where we could trumpet about bargains would be a good idea.

Could hit problems where supermarkets generally have different bargains in different areas.

My daughter lives in London and we find the half price offers she gets come here about 4 weeks later.

Not sure if this effects online stuff too.

it would somewhat be changing the purpose of the site - its a q&a site, not a top tips site.
randomly posting bits of info is not how it works.

the net is full of places to find this kind of info if people want it

It's certainly a good suggestion but I think it might be tantamount to giving Supermarkets free advertising on AB. I can't see Ed agreeing to that.

Some of us have to mind the pennies and to be offered advice is a good thing. I don't care if you call me a pauper..the government think I am able to live for a week on less than two pounds.
