Afternoon,

http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Technology/Question1241319.html

So, you think you've spotted a spammer? What should you do?

A) Report it as spam.
B) Prattle on being "funny" on their thread.

Can you guess what the answer is?

You'll be suspended if I catch you at it again.

"That's so unfair!" (the townspeople cry)

Not quite! See, we don't abide by spammers and by posting on a thread without offering any help, you're providing your own personal brand of artisan spam.

It might be beautiful, witty and funny, but it's still spam.

But That's Not All! You're also putting it back into the latest posts - meaning real questions don't get a look in.

Don't be spammer.

(This isn't to say you're not CORRECT however!)
''artisan spam''

^ There's a joke there but I can't quite see it.
can you not let on to the rest of them that i am the chief executive of answerbank plc
To be fair, my answers on that thread probably should have been removed too.

Yes, but I don't mind if that turns up for their brand for the time being :)

You sound like Rolf Harris. Do you have a didgeridoo?
Bob, no you're not. It's Yogi who's the CEO
LOL! That is utterly vile.

i feel sick

Answerprancer has a didgeridoo....I've seen it!! :-)
trouble is, you can't quite be sure if it's spam until the OP's sock-puppet comes on to provide an answer. You feel like a clot if you report something that turns out to be a legitimate question, even if you probably shouldn't.

It's strange how all the putative spammers write the same pidgin English ("please say me what is best tea-shop in Walla Walla") whether they're seeking advice about India or Glasgow.
Lol. You hussy!

If you're that serious Ed, roll it out in all categories, not just CB.
''please say me what is best tea-shop in Walla Walla''

Here you go jno:

thanks, Snags, but they're really all coffee bars, aren't they? They just keep a used teabag on the premises for tax purposes.
He teaches people how to use it as well....

(sorry AP if you look in)
I'd give Heidi's Grind a try, tea or no tea.
School dinners were scrummy spam fritters. Dont deny you got freebees with seconds, Ed
