Monday morning - tough day ahead pour moi but some good news to impart - on Sunday morning the GFs granddaughter gave birth to a 5lb 11 and half oz girl - named Poppy Wyn. G has been doing my head in all weekend when the Gd went into labour. Though we are not yet wed, I am going to known as great granddad. As for that thing about men crying over the birth - don't be silly, of course we all did!! Have a happy day
Morning Skipper, yesterday was bloody pandemonium. Got woken up by a screaming banshee at 7.25 when I was having a lovely dream about Raquel Welch...... hey, ho ...... I had gathered that little Poppy had come into the world so had to shove Raquel out of bed and leave the land of nod. We got to see her at afternoon visiting and she was tiny - sorry, bit obvious that - and a picture of health and happiness. Mum was exhausted as she had been in labour since the early hours of Saturday so had endured about 30 hours of contractions!!
As for work - I have to, it's a critical day in our financial year. Board meeting had been convened and we have to have interim figures ready by tomorrow - I appear to be in need of changing into my superman outfit sometime during the morning
Cheers, Minty, herself had the biggest smile i've ever seen on her face yesterday. I'm hoping to get photos tonight from Gs son to download onto disc - so watch out for an e-mail tomorrow sometime!!
Boaty - yes, it's her first, but don't think it will be her last. I think she'll be a great mum, she has the right attitude and won't be like a lot of young girls, passing baby to granny to look after while they go out gallivanting. She's more of a homemaker type.
Gawd, for a minute then, Minty, I thought you meant the superman outfit when you said 'something to look forward to' - and, yes, nothing to lift the spirits than a new arrival - good news for a change.
Babies have that effect on people. We had a three week old on the boat yesterday. Very proud parents eager to show her off! Her name is Holly. Her surname? Wood. Not the best choice of name methinks!
I did jokingly aske her if she had tied her partners tubes off yet, smiled and said no, with a glint in her eye. I think she'll be back in the labour ward in a couple of years - she will be getting plenty of good advice from G about not going back too soon though.
