Ipod not appearing in Itunes
3 Answers
Help! I have had my Ipod for about 2 months and all was peachy. However recently I put some more songs on my Itunes, plugged my Ipod into the computer to transfer them over, and nothing!
My Ipod icon is no longer appearing in Itunes, and it says that no Ipod is connected.
It's charging fine, just not updating. I have the latest version of Itunes. I have tried the Ipod on my friend's Itunes but that doesn't recognise it either.
Help!
Please note, I am not very techy literate so answers for idiots please. Also, Ipod was a present, so don't tell me I should have bought something else!

As the iPod is charging it sounds as if the firewire port is working fine, If you have another port try connecting it to that just in case.
So either the software on your iPod has become corrupted - hardly likely as you do not say that it is not working, or perhaps your copy of iTunes has become damaged. I would suggest you log on to the Apple site and download the latest version, and try again.

Hey
I have looked on their site to see if I can find something that will help.
First try resetting your ipod.
There is a section about this problem on the apple website. Click on the ipod mini support site, get help then go on ' my computer or usb does not regonise my ipod' From this it will then give you instructions on things that you can try to do.
Another thing to do is If you are using FireWire and have a USB cable to connect to the iPod, try using USB instead. If you are using USB and have a FireWire port and cable to connect to the iPod, try using FireWire instead.
I really hope this helps and that you get your ipod fixed. Let us no how you get on. Good Luck
