As I was driving up hill a car pulled out from parking space whoch made me brake and horn to make driver aware what he had done. Three parents were stood on kerb watching. Driver braked in front of me, preventing me from passing and then opens his door to get out of car in aggressive manner (am I glad the other parents were there) I had my daughter in car. The three parents went ballistic told him to get back in his car and it was his fault just because I was a woman he came out to abuse me if it were a fella he won't have done that. They were so kind to me and asked if I was ok. I was fine thanks to them, I dread to think if they weren't there what would have gone off. Makes me so angry that men think they can just do wrong and then get abusive to women....I can handle myself in a normal situation, but I just had a baby and had swollen legs and feet and was very tired..baby blues kicking in, so it was enough to upset me. Why do men always want one over women?

They don't speed, or are aggressive but seem to be totally oblivious of other drivers and anything else out of the scope of their own cars.
That being said, im not saying this is the case here and I'd like to reiterate that its not all women drivers, but the majority of my "eek, what's gonna happen next" moments in my case seem to be caused by women.

You should beep your horn to make other drivers aware of your presence if needed, which you did correctly as he obviously hadn't seen you, but he took it as an 'angry beep' which most people use their horn for nowadays.
Women are just as likely to jump out of their car and have a screaming match nowadays, so I just don't use my horn full stop. My OH used a naughty hand signal when a van overtook in a 30 zone with a car coming the other way (and he was doing spot-on 30) at night. The van stopped dead and 5 men jumped out running towards our car - Luckily, OH quickly overtook and drove to the Police station up the road to wait until they had passed. If it had been me driving on my own, god knows what might have happened. Needless to say, he doesn't use hand signals any more just in case - scary stuff driving nowadays :-(
