Another Remote Would Be A Good Idea
4 Answers
I have a problem - i purchased a car from a Dealership ( there is only the one remote control key/fob which does the central locking / immobiliser / alarm )
I have looked for ages on the web to see what my options are for getting a replacement remote control .
To be honest with you - i'm totally confused .
Some people are saying that you need to get a replacement from a Ford dealership , because they only have the proper equipment to code a replacement remote .
Others are indicating that you can get it done elsewhere .
I have looked at this site also and note that similiar questions have been asked in the past - however i cant see a definitive answer .
1. I dont want to risk someone messing up the electronics on the car
2. Has anyone actually purchased a replacement remote ( or can give a definitive answer ) , with key, from anyone other than a dealer and are happy with their purchase - i.e no problems at all - if so can you please point me in the right direction ?

I was just concerned that going elsewhere than a ford dealer ( who charge extorniate prices ) might run the risk of a.n. other, getting something wrong and the cars inmmoboliser/ alarm / locking mechanism / electronics etc being damaged .
However if i read you correctly - there shouldn't be a problem
Is that what your'e saying ?
