'Old Timers' Corner'

Somewhere where we can quietly chat about our tomato plants, memories and liberty bodices, whilst we park up our zimmer frames and have a nice cuppa.

I did suggest it before and the Ed said he thought it was a good idea.  Come on Ed. we are getting swamped in Chatterbank and it would keep us happy.

Now oddly enough the name patsyann reminds me of something.....oh yes it's all coming back to me......in the days before AnswerBank I think I had a real name.....;-)

Far be it from me to point out the obvious, but if you made the most of Chatterbank you'd be able to drown out most of the inanity.

So this is the post Vinny & Neti were referring to - I was looking on Chatterbank for it - must be me age.

Anyway, I have to agree. I even emailed the Ed a couple of weeks ago, asking whether ChatterBank should still remain & he/she said it should, so there you go.

Chatterbank is ok, it's just that younger folk have taken over.  Once in a while I dip in and then out again.

Sorry lodekka I have to disagree.  I answered neti's post 6 hrs ago & it's now half way down page 3 of chatterbank & slipping!  Unless you are on there all day keeping your eye open for reasonable questions you don't stand a chance.  Those people that do ask good Q's - not necessarily the wrinklies - often get pounced on by pointless answers which puts everyone else off.

Maybe the mistake was calling it a 'chat' thread(smudge - nothing against your choice of name!!) Maybe Miscellaneous or Answerbank Extra would have been a better idea.

..but Robinia it was supposed to be a place for Chat or discussion. It's just that  some very silly people are now using it.  I didn't realise it could get so silly and we did enjoy it to start with.(mumbles into beard - well some old women have them!!)

Just because a thread isn't on the front page doesn't mean that it can't be replied to, Robinia. We're doing a fine job on this one after all!

Chatterbank is tedious with the recent goings on there, but if you don't post you won't get heard by anyone else and it is the most suitable place for chat threads after all. Any site is as good as the contributors make it.

With any luck the under-fives will tire of it before long as they flame each other witless.

Yes lodekka, but had I not happened to see neti's post this morning on page 1 of CB I certainly wouldn't be trawling through pages of tedium.  This post, if not in your profile, hasn't slipped to page 3 or 4 of Suggestions yet amid a sea of very old jokes!!
