It might leave the News topic as an area where reasoned debates can be held where there isn't only one right answer and all other views are wrong

Thanks for the responses- all of them!

I messed up the wording of the last sentence a bit there but I think everyone knew what I meant.

I just wanted to lighten things up a bit as the tone in News on Brexit topics had become very adversarial (and at times unnecessarily rude) and some threads and posts were clearly designed to bait and ridicule people.

Thankfully, it seems a lot better today though so hopefully sensible debate and discussion can take place and all views can be respected even if we disagree with those views.
