What Is Happening?

What is happening to Answerbank? Such a lot of great regulars have left recently - many I know have been driven away by the unpleasantness of others which is really sad. Its not the same place now - I hardly post except for birthday wishes, for fear of being victimised due to my sometimes differing views. Such a shame ... to see it go like SAB. I used to love the humour and friendliness on here.

The way I look at it, if my opinion differs from the majority on a thread - either post and leave it there (ie don't feel the need to respond if your opinion is ridiculed) or ignore.

It depends on my mood which path I take.

Yes there has been a change in the mood of the place.

Jokes and sarcasm in Law/Body & Soul etc - now they grate on me.

It also used to be a wonderful site for help, advice and general TLC when anyone was feeling low. I used to love the nostalgia on here too.

It could be that, like so many things, it's time has come. People move on, remember Bebo, Friends Reunited, Ra Ra Skirts?

I hope not though. Despite almost overwhelming aggravation and contrariness to the point of idiocy at times, it's mostly alright.

It even creeps into Technology. People who have no point track other posters just to snipe. Heated debate in news is one thing, but some carry it over into unrelated threads (and sometimes bring a support act) just to taunt and antagonise.

I think the same Mamya - I don't mind general good humour and teasing but sometimes it is sheer vindictiveness - awful and embarrassing to read.

I don't like when xxxx gives a sarcastic or an annoying answer and somebody else comes on and says well posted xxxx. That smacks of bullying.

DB, I didn't mean the posts tonight in Body & Soul, even if regular members post about say bowel or bladder problems, the jokes have been known to follow - not all replies but enough to make it clear they are simply wannabe comedians who have no care what topic they are in.


I make sarcy posts and am sure some are misplaced, if that is so then I include myself.
