Is there anywhere to buy / download maps for sat navs, specifically one for USA?

I would have thought that the manufacturer of your particular sat nav would be the one to ask. Unless they are all standard data now, which I'd doubt.

Get my UK maps from the site I've pasted below. Looking at the homepage they also do USA ones too.

Use them on my Garmin, they use the free OpenStreetMap tiles which have most footpath/bridleways. Obviously not as good as the OS ones but pretty good for free!

This is for a GPS receiver -not sure if that is same as sat nav for a car?
