Sub Catagories

Just curious here. How many ABers use or look in to the subs?
I used to like religion and spirituality but its died a death since the change over. Law is similar, everyone posts in the main cat. Are there any need for subs anymore?

I look mainly in CB, then no particular order: food, jokes, B&S.
I least look in News as this is real serious stuff, Religion (I'm an atheist) Law and B&F.

Never and I rarely look in many of the topics I used to visit anymore. Too much faff. I'm not sure that removing them is the answer, that just gets rid of the evidence of the poor revamp.

I do think that the revamp was a move backwards even tho ive quiet gotten to like the new layout but the subs (or at least some of them) should be made 'mainstream' (couldn't think of a better way of putting it, sorry)

I agree I've got used to it but think those who think the revamp is an improvement are just currying favour with the Eds. It's pants in comparison to how it used to be.

It's miles easier on mobile devices, now though. I didn't really like the subcategories anyway. Fewer topics that are easier to see would be good.

The 'new' layout is awful, just get used to it.

I commented on this subject on an earlier thread today.

I think it's safe to say the loss of a fully open category list has been the major down side of the changes.

It is easier to read on a mobile but it has definitely lost some of ots appeal and that looks to be backed up by a loss of numbers posting.

The categories just under 'The Answerbank could easily be doubled up something like ...

I am not sure I agree with this. The Sub Sections are still there....they haven't gone away.

I personally don't find navigation of the topics difficult but obviously some must do as we have had a few threads on the subject.

No-one has suggested they've gone away, just not as obvious as they were, so not getting as much traffic.

Its all gone a bit pants up if you ask me. Used to like a good conflab, now all you get is 'what have you had for dinner'.
Whatever happened to the meaning of life threads?
