I thought this had been sorted 2 weeks ago via live-chat to India but today BT has been logging me out of email time after time. Maddening again! How do I know if Thunderbird as recommended before is (a) genuine and (b) will work?
Thunderbird is, and long has been, the first choice PC email client of every technical magazine that I've ever read. It's also widely recommended in the general consumer press, on BBC technology programs and across countless websites. Add to that it's undoubted popularity among ABers, and I reckon that you should be fairly safe to use it ;-)
(Thunderbird is 'out of the same stable' as Firefox, even though it's now developed by separate teams, and should thus be regarded as excellent).
OK after another live chat with India with a far less helpful chap than before, I've downloaded Thunderbird against my wishes and better judgement. It's transferred all my BT inbox emails but I don't have a clue as to how to import my email folders, nor yet discovered where the "sent" folder may be. Please help!
What do you mean by "logging me out" please diddlydo. Do you mean while you are in the middle of using it? Or when you return to it later you are required to log in again
I get the same....when I haven't used my BT email account for a while...it logs me out....it's a fairly recent development....happens a number of times a day...
Fiction factory - logs me out if I haven't touched it for half an hour and occasionally when I'm in the middle of writing an email. Today it locked me out for 15 minutes and I got the message that I'd had "too many unsuccessful attempts at logging in"!!!!! Absolutely ridiculous!!
