But re: the ANT threads, why are there threads that want to punish him all the time?
I just don't get it
What is this thing that seeks to destroy anyone who is crying out for help....what is this wish to destroy peoples personalites all the time?

There's no wish from me to destroy him or anyone else. He is managing to destroy himself.
I just accept that everyone sees things differently, mutter away to myself, say my bit if I need to and move on.
i was supportive of him till he broke the law and put other people's lives in danger
It's interesting isn't it how a lot of responders think it's either one or the other, there is surely room for both views.

I shan't repeat what I said numerous times on other threads.
Your cheerful posts never fail to brighten my day. It's a bit like listening to Leonard Cohen!
LOL @ Mex!
I think society needs to believe in self responsibility in order to survive, and whilst many will be supportive of someone with issues, sympathy drops in many when an individual's actions put others in peril.
No one condones his recklessness but I do feel sorry for him. I know what it's like to feel as though your life is unravelling. It's a dark and desolate place.

Take it easy tonight, nailit.
Try the jokes section Mex, shall I sharpen the razor? It's bad in there.
I would fall over backwards to help him get the help he needs and I have a huge amount of sympathy for anyone with addiction issues but that doesn't stop me having zero tolerance for his drink driving. He could have killed people, that needs dealing with on a very rational level t stop him actually killing people next time. I have no wish to see him destroyed, but nor do I wish him to destroy other people.
Nails, you use the booze as a safety valve. It alleviates the stress and numbs the pain. Don't punish yourself, you have human frailty, so do we all. Mine is cake. Cheers.
Think Moody Blues, Nailit:

A good night to you.

A good morrow too.
If you're seeing only the dark side, Nailit, there is of course this (gallows humour alert) with the original line-up - Denny Lane and before Justin:

he has talent, money by the bucketloads, and more opportunities to make more than most will make in a lifetime, its time he grew up. We all like a tipple but to be honest he could have killed those three people in the car and would be facing a long jail sentence.
I have sympathy for him but no excuse for drink driving.
Its OK to hum & har but the truth is people who have problems with Alcohol should avoid it at all costs. It would appear that fame plus loads of cash makes one think they can get away with anything they like. The news is the more famous you become the more vulnerable you are.
