Passing Details To Advertisers

Hello, I am in the process of setting up a website. The site will have members - hopefully lots of them. One of the possible 'income streams' / member benefits is passing details on to 'partners' so basically providers of goods and services that may be of interest to our members. Our wording in the 'Sharing Data with others section' of our privacy statement is as follows

"To enable carefully selected partners to provide you with member benefits such as discounted rates on goods and services"

I am slightly uncomfortable with this....are we inviting unsolicited contact from 3rd parties, is it OK to do so even if we are, do we just place this in our privacy statement or does it need to go in the TnCs as well

the law has recently changed
GDPR rules the day

these MAY be too loose to comply even if they did previously
I am pretty sure that you need active consent where the lucky punter has to click 'Yes' to an obvious statement

if you click here then you consent to .....

I am sure that it cant just go into a privacy statement
