"The Page Isn't Redirecting Properly"
4 Answers
I'm using Windows 10 and have Firefox as my default browser. Cookies are set as 'standard' on that browser. I have The Times preview articles sent to my Gmail account. I used to be able to click on a link and Firefox would open up on that story on The Times website. A few weeks ago, that stopped happening and now have to click on Firefox to get to my story. This is a bit irritating, but not a real problem. (I would like to know how to change it back, though!)
Today, I clicked on the link and got a page which said: "The page isn't redirecting properly
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies."
I've not changed from accepting standard cookies, so don't understand this. I have Adblocker running, but disabling that hasn't helped, either. I've tried clearing the cookies and the cache in Firefox, but this hasn't helped.
I tried copying one of the links:
http:// links.i nfo2.ne ws.co.u k/ctt?m s=OTU0M jE2NgS2 &kn =23& ;r=MzM5 NjA4NDk 0NzI2S0 &b= 0&j =MTUxND Q1Nzg4M gS2& ;mt=1&a mp;rt=0
into Edge, but this time was rewarded with a page headed: Anti Spam and Privacy statement. All of the links have the same results. I don't know if it's pertinent, but I'm running AVG antivirus software, but that hasn't changed since this system was working properly.
Pasting the link directly into the browser brings the story up - but it's a faff and want to use the usual system!
I'd be grateful for any help with this.
