It was closed down before I could respond. Ok It's the odd swear I use that is the bone of contention. I get that, I will no longer try and bypass the swear filter. Though I do think that the odd minor swear word does garnish writing that is meant too emulate the peaks and trough's of speech rather than an essay.
TTT No one has the right to ask another user to change their style of writing. If you don't like it or can't understand it then don't read it! I do however agree with Andy Hughes that vulgarity never enhances or garnishes the written word. Its so much more interesting to find a legitimate and literary way of insulting someone ;-)
I swear in real life -probably too much for a lay-dee and can swear in three languages which helps. ;-) But one has to try and respect the fact that wee soft souls easily offended have access to this public site so a user is obliged to try and adhere to the rules .
woofgang I'm happy you agree with me. I have never used a swear word on here, though once or twice have added the Asterix myself lol! I have been called the worst name on here but although disgusting, says more about the perpetrator.
It's the swearing with bothers the Eds, it's the nonsensical rhyming-slang and acronyms that bother many of the rest of us; many of which are designed to insult ABers disagreeing with you but get round contravening the Site Rules.
'Your wife, sir, under the pretext of keeping a bawdy house, is a receiver of stolen goods."
If only we could coin insults like that what need would there be for swearing?
