G Mail Password Was Saved But Has Disappeared - Help Please!
14 Answers
Many of my passwords for sites have always been saved and are listed in passwords but for some reason G Mail has disappeared from that list.! I now have to sign in to it every time to view my mail
I know it says in various places when asking the question that Edge does not save G mail/Google but it has always done it for me!
Yesterday I had some automatic updates done and since then the option to save passwords which usually appears in a blue box top r/h corner of screen has disappeared.
Please help me

Is your 'sign in automaticall y' switched on, too?

I use Edge and it has always saved GMail passwords for me. I see that an update is ready in Edge and I may get the same problem you have. I'll let you know tomorrow when I update it.
In the meantime, would you consider using a password manager such as LastPass or Bitwarden? I like LastPass because it syncs across all my devices.

I use Edge and haven't got a 'toggle to save' box in the right-hand corner of my screen. When I sign in to anything new I get a pop up offering to save the password. She can go into settings on Edge ( three horizontal dots in the Right-hand top corner of the screen -scroll down to 'settings' click and then choose 'password's' with the sign for a key then make sure the toggle for 'offer to save passwords' is turned on. When this is done the passwords should be saved automatically, and she will be asked , by way of a drop down box, when any new ones are created if she wants to save them.
Thanks both - I did as you said AuntPollyGrey and clicked settings - passwords ans there is now a blue box which IS showing as on but when I go into a site - say Gmail or ebay or Amazon and enter the password it does not (as it used to do until the other day) bring up the little blue box offering 'save password'!

Yes it is! I tried imputting some completely new websites with a password but a blue box asking me to 'save password' never appeared at all!
However - in the password list there are all my original sites with passwords beside them and those sites when I use them open immediately.
I am resigning myself to entering my password each time I need to read my GMails!
This happened once before last year after updates for the latest Windows but have not installed these this time!
Thanks

Thanks for your help Barrie and Aunt Polly
I have solved the problem another way! I used Bing as a browser for years but someone online said it is sometimes 'unstable' regarding saving passwords on Edge.
So I have downloaded Chrome as my default browser (as this is Google same as my GMail). It has worked for me and I went into Gmail in Chome and saved it as an shortcut to my desktop - so when I now click on it it opens immediately without having to enter a password each time. All my other saved passwords seem to work as well a they have imported automatically into Chrome. Have also shortcut eBay and Answebank in same way.
Thanks again
